As a hijabi, you're probably a fashionista to everyone during the winter and fall, but when spring/summer arrive, you're seen as "sooo last season!". Let's change that with bright tunics, wide-leg jeans, flip flops, sandals, heels, and bright hijabs!

This way, you will preserve your modesty without being stuck in the winter.

Safari Inspired-- Giraffe

Giraffe are tall. Giraffe are confident. Giraffe see everything for what it really is. Giraffe is one of my fav animals. So why not be as confident and tall as a giraffe? Wide leg jeans with heels make everyone look tall/taller. Prints are great on tall people, and Giraffe are covered with them! Giraffe are also very unique in that no giraffe has the same pattern as another- just another one of Allah's gorgeous creation subhannallah!
Be as confident, tall, and unique as a giraffe with this hijabi chic outfit!

If you love a certain animal/even insect, comment and I'll make another ensemble inspired by that creature!

Holy Designerss.... continueed and will continue... HIJAB

The next site I want to show you, also specializes in hijabs!

I was uuuber happy to have come across a site because everytime I find one, i think I have them all.. then another appears and I get all excited again!

Some of us still like those darlin two piece hijabs - they're comfortable, easy to slip on, they don't slip off, and their flattering to some of us (oh you lucky ones!). The Hijab Lady sells them! yes, she does. (hehe, watch the owner be a man. that'd be pretttty funny). These 2 piece hijabs are a little more classy than the ones we all wore as kids to islamic school, so they're great for the hijabifashionista in you!
they also have pants, skirts, tops, shirts.. (rhyme. there's a rapper in me. hehe).

checkitoutt
haha and they have a promo goin' on : BUY A SHIRT AND PANT AND YOU'LL GET A SQUARE HIJAB, FREE!!! hehe I love reading ads!

Around the town in Brown!

Don't be afraid to wear bold prints! I mean, how great do they look in the outfit I created above?
Wear one color from the tunic in your hijab. Remember, if it's a printed top- go for a solid hijab. TO spice it up, maybe a printed under cap, but don't over print. If it's a solid top, you can go either solid or printed in the hijab.
GO SHOPPING FOR TUNICS!

27 Dresses >>> #13 Hijab Grad

Yay! #13 already! P.S the movie, 27 dresses, is Ah-mazing! loove it!

A sister commented that she wanted me to create posts on how to dress up for grad, well here it is!

This is for the hijabi going to grad. You really want to be as formal as everyone else is, but preserve your modesty (i.e. rules of hijab) at the same time!

If you recert to one of my older posts, (one of my verrry first), then you'll read baout how to wear the hijab. For this look, I included 2 diff colored scarves because using the two, you'll create a sort of up-do with the hijab. Your neck will be covered by the turtle neck, as well as your arms. The dress is just faaabbulous!

Then, you do the routine makeup, nails, shoes, and CLUTCH! not a purse, and def not a bag! a clutch - it's more formal!

REMEMBER: long dresses ONLY! hehe you don't want to wear pants under your dress :I

Rocker Chic

How to wear hijab and a leather jacket? Sweeten up the leather jacket with a cute licensed tee that matches the hijab and your shoes. I wouldn't wear flats or heels with this look.. Sneakers can be chic as well, because hey! We aren't ALWAYS in the mood for heels!

Remember, fashion is a way of expressing your feeling.. you don't have to be a rocker everyday to dress like this - you may just feel like a rocker this one day. That's okay! Don't be afraid to dress a certain way!

Holy Designers..... continued.. and will continue

I found yet another website that you NEED to check out!
www.hijabs-r-us.com

We all shopped at Toys R Us, now that you're a hijabi, step it up a notch and enter the world of stylishness, and into hijabs-r-us.com

They have hijabs from all over the world - turkey, italy, and many other places I can't remember and am too lazy to look up again!
Look! they have hijab caps for 3 dollars in a huge assortment of colors!

Skirts you say? you need skirts? THEY HAVE SKIRTS TOO!! and verry nice ones at that!!
Look at that hijab! that skirt! ohhh my gorgeousss!
this tunic is sooo amazing! they sell everything on their mannequins- so the tunic? it's there!Oooh I love the color orange!

If you love online shopping, this is definetely being added to my top fav hijab websites, and if you don't like online shopping, just stop by and collect ideas from their stylin mannequins! And very affordable as well!! Their skirts are like 35$ and up, their tunics are all around 15$, and then they have blouses, tops with hoods, longsleeve tops, layered tops, and hijabs from like, EVERYWHERE!

check it out, check it out!

Hijabis in Hats: Southern Bell

I'm a country girl- with a heck of a lot of style!

Take an earthy print and wear it under a long sleeve top, or a blazer,.. cardigan too! my oh my, we hijabis have a lot of choices that we don't recognize! (opps I forgot to put the longsleeve top in the pic-- but w.e, we hijabifashionistas have a lot of imagination, right?).

Bags don't have to be leather, canvas, cotton, pleather or w.e else! Try a basket bag, they are cute and are great for this season!

Ballet flats, ballet flats, ballet flats! Chic-er than a sneaker, more comfortable than a pump(..oratable..?) HAHA I made that up myself. Just now. Yay for me!

widelegs, widelegs, widelegs! so breezy and easyy! (haha i'm on a roll.. )

This Hi-jab, is so FAB! (ooo I'm getting goood..)

A great hat to feed the cat! (that made no sense... let's stop with the rhyming, shall we?) And a great hat to top it all off!

OJO! (watch out! LOOK!..) the hat doesn't match the hijab here! I'm mixin' it up sisters! if the hat coordinates with other parts of the outfit, it doesn't need to match the hijab!

Let's cap up ladies!

Hijabis in Hats: Lights, Camera, Action!

Cheers to the second "hijabis in hats" post! I want to see more hijabis in hats this summer! You don't know how to wear them? Here's a tip; if you want to play it safe, wear a hat the same color as your hijab - coordinated with your outfit. The hat must also fit the event.

Like this outfit? Get this look:
- Long white skirt
- Black blazer (white accents optional..)
- black pumps (we should all have at least one pair of those!)
- Gorgeous sun hat the same color as hijab (or close enough at least)

Pure love.

This is my style!

Rock this Look:
CARDIGANS CARDIGANS CARDIGANS -- the weather is warm alhamdulilah and so the shops are filled with cardigans of light materials!
ANKLE BOOTS! if you're buying new shoes, try ankle boots, or if you're not into that, try moccasin flats - they are adorable and oh so chic! look for the frill on them as well (the pair above doesn't have any) but you'll be sure to see a lot of that this summer/spring.
SUNGLASSES! Isn't that a given?

BY THE WAYYY:

A sister pointed out that she wanted to know where the products in my outfits are from.. so insha allah I'll do that from now on.. I think I'll go back and do a few of the past posts as well. I'll note the most important pieces insha allah:

Hijab: muslimbase.com
Cardigan: missselfridge.com
Trouser: topshop.com
Ankle Boot: topshop.com

Animal Inspired: Blue Butterfly

so, yeah - the butterfly isn't an animal.. but I wanted to do a piece with the color blue, so I whipped this one up quick. I was inspired by the picture of the blue butterfly in the background of the outfit.

I'm am TERRIBLY afraid of butterflies, to be honest. It's not uncommon for me to cry if one is flying my way.. what can I say? I'm a scaredey cat! But I have to give it to the creatures- they're made up of beautiful colors and patterns and they just fly so gently and carefree. Carefree... how great would that be?

You can definetly pull off this look! So go Float Like A Butterfly to your closet, and manipulate this look to fit your wardrobe!

Looking for something to shop for? ANKLE BOOTS are all the rage! If you buy colored ones - like the one above, you can pull off pretty much ANY look, with the SAME pair!!

Campus Chic

Looking great is really this easy. Buy a few skirts - and they don't all have to be long! My favorites are the ones that are around mid-calve, or ankle. Then, I just wear a baggy boot like the one above with it - voila! no skin, no clingyness - totally hijabi friendly! I would wear the cardigan above open with a darker solid color underneath it. Then, of course, a hijab to match.
THis outfit, is a lot like the set up of others I've made, but besides me promoting midcalve length skirts, I want to bring your attention to silk scarves! If you don't want to wear them on your head because they are slippery, wear them around your neck, in large loops for a vintage chic sorta day, or in a sophisticated knot.. whatever you want. That's why I love scarves, you can go crazy! And believe me, it looks so chic when a hijabi wears her hijab and then a scarf tied around her neck!
This outfit is a more chic boho look - a nice bag, big sunglasses, gorgeous cheap rings, and bangles are all great accessories! Try it out - you'll love it!
Of course I had to add the starbucks and our phones - things we can't seem to live without.
RUDE AWAKENING: don't buy drinks from starbucks!! All earnings go to support the isreali army on saturdays and a portion every other day!! I just put up the pic cuz i needed to fill space.. no complaints on that please- not TRYING to be controvercial!

Holy Designers.. continueeeed! and will continue

Ok, so I already talked about this designer on one of my very first posts! This company is actually amaaazing.. and when I go to Turkey I'll pick up, like, the whole store! I'm in love with their designs.... and Layan introduced this site for me, I think it's a link to a diff collection by Tekbir.. Tekbir Giyim. Unfortunatly I don't know Turkish, but Giyim will probably end up meaning that they are two totally different companies and I'll look like a total idiot referencing them as the same.. but anyway, just look at those pictures! Amazing huh?

I even watched a "Let's Shop" episode yesterday afternoon that took place in Istanbul and I fell IN LOVE!

That's It. I'm moving to Turkey. Insha allah I'll atleast visit someday soon.

Holy Designers.. continueeeed! and will continue

OH MY GOODNESS! These are the prettiest scarves I have EVER SEEN!

The designer? Aker at http://www.akeronline.com/
affordable? I don't know the difference between the turkish dollar and the canadian but it's 78 YTL.
Their selection is sooo huge, everyone should check it out!

They also have 2 other collections - arenacia, and the pierre cardin collection who I guess they design for as well. ch-ch-ch-check it ouut!
Jazaak allah Layan for reccomending this site for me!

Holy Designers.. continueeeed! and will continue

New designer, company thing! On one of the comments a sister reccomended this site for me, and it's pretty nice. I probably wouldn't shop there, but I think my mom would LOVE it! And she's can be pretty fashionable mind you. The website? http://www.taqwaiman.com/
This pic above was something I really love about the site - it has outfits set up for you created with their products! This is seriously handy!

This is something I don't necessarily like, I feel that it cuts off too short for my taste, but it could look great on someone else! What I want to tell you, is to accessorize it up!

This is something I like. It's long, and a pretty color. When I first looked at it, I thought "I don't see why it has this collar, because it's not going to be seen under the hijab anyway" but then I remembered something I posted a while ago, about tucking your hijab in. Subhanallah, I forgot my own Hijabifashionista tip!
I personally don't like the material it's made of- but hey, I'm looking through a computer screen, and I'm sure we hijabi fashionistas could rock this top!

however, I LOVE THEIR SHOES!! they're so different and stylish! ANND affordable.. close to 30 US.
Go check out the site and be sure to check out their skirts.. pretty nice.

Just because I wouldn't shop there, doesn't mean I wouldn't tell you, as hijabifashionista , it's my duty to tell you what's out there! And jazak allah anon. sister for telling me about this site!

Just bringing ideassss..

So i've created a picture that i LOVE and would totally wear ! I know that comments are going to show up about the skirt being too short - then I'll add that the boots are high enough to cover it, and then more comments will come in that say the boots are too tight. OK. Point taken, but you can still wear this look, with a wide boot leg! Buy a cowboy boot and wear it with a turqouise med. length dress (i'm too scared to say jean skirt because I dislike them verrry much!)

Anyway, back to boots. You'll see in stores the knee length boots, I LOVE THEM, some people don't. most people. But you know why? because they think they're supposed to be for clubbing or something - but my fellow hijabifashionistas... you can MAKE IT WORK! Look for a pair that isn't too clingy, but if it is, you can still wear 'em to parties (yes, the shopaholic in me is talking.. spend that 100 for one occasion sistaaa! haha). The good thing about knee high boots, is that most med. length skirts land at the knee or right under, you'd be lucky to find ones mid calve which would be perfect for your regular tall boots, but with the knee high, you can go with a shorter skirt, and it'd be okay!

Those are my hijabifashionista tips for the day!

27 Dresses >>> #12

Hijabis go out too, and never should a hijabi sstay home from a party just because she has nothing to wear - and never should a hijabifashionista go out to a party looking not-so-great because she didn't know HOW to dress up! I made this dress for the younger girl - someone older than sixteen can def. pull it off, but maybe look for a diff. style dress at the same length. Regardless of what I said earlier about not dressing from head to toe in one color - it's done here just for a party occasion when it's OK to match instead of mix.

I used a white pant here because it ADDS to the outfit. Imagine if I used a black pant, i think because it's too dark that it would take away from the outfit, with a white pant, you look like you thought more about the outfit since everyone owns that black trouser!

Just a reminder that you CAN wear that gorgeous dress on display at your favorite store - you just have to wear it diff than it's being displayed!

Hijabis in Hats: Smooth Sailing

The sailor's cap - totally wearable. You will radiate confidence!
Watch out -- just because you look like a super chic sailor, doesn't mean you have to SOUND like a sailor. As hijabis, we're representing Islam- and cursing in public totally sends out the wrong message!

Animal Inspired: Peacock

The peacock is one of my favorite animals, so making an outfit inspired by it, was soo incredibly fun! I think I'll make more peacock inspired outfits because diff peacocks contain diff colors in their feathers making it that much easier, and that much more fun to create outfits! Allah has made this otherwise very odd looking animal so gorgeous with the amazing colors in it's feathers. It's weird, but I think, that if the animal were human - it would be soo fashionable! hehe

Get this look:
-Buy different peacock inspired pieces - a bag, shoes, diff accesories with a solid top in one of the peacockish colors (purple, green, turqoise, blue..) OOR a top with a definate peacock pattern, and go solid with the accessories.. you don't want to peacock overload! hehe

So dress in peacock inspired outfits and strut that stuff tranny!

Safari Inspired!

In celebration of one of the newest trends- Safari --I'm starting yet another great part of my blog - Animal Inspired outfits!

The one above is an outfit I created that isn't animal inspired- but just safari inspired - which is definatly just as great! If you don't want to rock the animal prints and inspired outfits, then just go with safari style.

To get this look:

- bags with braided rope straps
- beiges, browns..
- many patterns - diagonal or straight strips
- everyone should own one structured safari jacket
- printed bangles -- if all the other pieces are solid colors, with barely any prints, go with printed accessories

Go hunting for these spec. pieces!

Hijabis in Hats: A little too much chocolate, is just about right.

A new section of this fashionable blog: Hijabis in Hats!
I want to see more hijabis in hats-- and i'm not talking about our brothers' nasty baseball caps, I'm talking about fashionable hats that coordinate with your outfit- or atleast your hijab! (that was another hijabifashionista tip! .Jot.that.down.)
:D

Nine out of ten people like chocolate. The tenth person always lies..
hehe
