{Silky Hijabi}

Ladies, ladies, ladies! I am so excited about this store called Bijoux Terner. Everything in the store is $10, so you'd expect to find little cheapy-cheap items that aren't really worth anything... But look at what I found!

100% Colorful Pucci-esque Silk Scarf, Oblong Shayla Hijab

100% Black and White Floral Silk Scarf, Oblong Shayla Hijab

Yes girls, these are oblong 100% silk scarves that are large enough to be worn as hijabs. Aren't they lovely? And for just $10!

The colorful one reminds me of Pucci, while the black and white floral beauty looks like it could be sold in White House Black Market for $50. They also have solid colors and other prints and shapes, but I fell in love with these two when I saw them.

Bijoux Terner is definitely my favorite find of the season. I'm not sure how many stores they have, but check their website to see if they've got a store near you. Alternatively, you could search sites like Amazon for silk scarves. I found the one below for $160... I'll stick with Bijoux, thank you.

{Fleece Jumper Dresses}

Modest clothing at Precious Modesty blogspot
These cute little fleece dresses are great layering pieces for fall. Throw one on over a long-sleeve tee and a denim skirt for an easy casual look. I suggest a skirt with these tops because they may not be long enough to provide the proper coverage over pants and jeans... But that depends on your height. Either way, at $19.50, these dresses are a steal at Old Navy.

Salam ladies! Inshallah, please check out my new article on Islamic Insights and don't forget to rate it! :o)

Kima

{Aussie Islamic Designer}

I'm always searching for new Islamic clothing sites. One that I came across recently is an Australian design company called Rayannes Design. I really like their style because it's a good mix of modern fashion, uniqueness, and eastern style. Here are some of my favorites from some of the clothing categories on their website.

The Abaya Shop
Chest Knot 2-Piece Abaya, $89.99(Australian)
This dress is really cute. I love the double layered look. You can create a similar style by pairing a long duster with a long skirt and top, or an abaya.

The Skirt Shop
Grey Flare Skirt, $37.99(Australian)
We all know how big grey is this Fall. This pretty skirt is classic and trendy at the same time and it is absolutely perfect for workwear. Can you see this with a black blazer, boots or pumps, and maybe a pop of color in the hijab? So cute!

The Suit Shop
Velvet Chorded Skirt Suit, $79.99(Australian)
I must admit that I have mixed feelings about this suited look, but, I love the skirt! I'd wear the skirt with a nice pump and a short blazer or cardigan. As for the top, well I'd probably give it away to someone smaller than me because it does look a bit snug.

Overall, I really like
Rayannes Designs. If they weren't so far away, I'd probably order something, but for now, the price tag and shipping would be more than a bit too much. What do you all think?

{Shopping with Clients}

Last week, I was shopping with a beautiful client, Lamis. Lamis is a college student on a budget, so we needed to stretch her shopping dollars to the max. Sears is a great place to find deals on clothing so we headed there first and here is one of our best finds.

Petite Islamic Clothing and modest clothing

These skirts are so lovely and they are only $15 each! But, be aware that they won't be long enough if you stand over 5 feet tall. Lamis is 4'11" so it's great for her. But I could never get away with this skirt. Anyhoo... Petite ladies, enjoy!

{Ramadan 2007 RTW at Shukr}

Shukr's UK leg launched its new Ramadan Collection this morning. The collection is the first in a series of one-of collections that will sell on a first come first served basis. My guess is that this move to producing limited edition items serves to entice shoppers to buy without waiting for deep discount sales. Are you enticed?

{The Burkini}

Islamic Swimsuit, Birkini or Burkini swimwear for Muslim women and MuslimahsMarie Claire magazine took the "Burkini" out on the beach to see how people would react to this swimsuit made for Muslim women.

What say we? I don't like the Burkini. It's too tight, and it looks a bit strange. I'd much rather wear pants and a long tee, but that's just me! What do you think?

Anja is a Canadian based Islamic Clothing design company. They started out with brick and mortar stores in Ontario and have now expanded to include online shopping. I must say that I'm not completely thrilled with their selection but I love it that they focus on having a modern, "fashiondy" website. Check them out and tell us what you think...

{Leopard-Print Abaya?}

D&G Fall 2007 RTW - Leopard Spot Dress This clearly needs a slip, but what do you think about this abaya-esque leopard print D&G dress?

Would you rock it with a shiny red bag, black pumps, and a hijab? Or, would you rather leave it on the runway?
