27 Dresses >>>>>>>> #1

Our first dress outfit for the new "27 dresses" section that I've created because I wanted to catch your attention, and with what else than the name of a movie (which I honestly have not yet watched, but have heard much praise about!) is........

This dress brings out our first Hijabi - Dress - Awareness Idea:

1) You can't mess up pairing those jeans with a dress!

Hijabis cannot always wear skinny jeans unless they are wearing very long tops -- that is, unless they haven't found THAT pair of skinny jeans that aren't that tight, but like I mentioned before, they're hard to find. Soooooo pairing those jeans with a dress make your outfit totally hijabi friendly.

2) Blazer and dress equals no stress

You don't normally find long sleeve dresses.. and if you do, please make sure it's a NICE dress and not that you're just trying to disprove me here (lol). ANNND if it passes that, then please tell me where you bought it :) .. Short sleeves are a problem for hijabis, but just like wearing a blazer over a short sleeved tee, why not over a dress?

I hope you liked the first post on the 27 dresses section of this fab blog!
P.S did you notice all the rhyming?

Pretty in Pink

Have you seen this picture? I have another hijabifashionista rule:

///
Don't match. Mix.
//
It's a motto i've had for a loong time. Don't be too matchy matchy. This goes for any person - hijabi or not, but it is more so for hijabis seeing as they wear more cloth (hopefully). I mean, I'm not telling you to wear all the colors of the rainbow in one outfit! If you recall a previous rule:
///
one outfit should not consist of over 4 colors. Ideally 2-3 is enough
///

The colors should be tied in with one piece, like a necklace or a bag, or something. Just don't wear head to toe one color.

The photo above is the first picture I've ever seen that is an exception to this rule. She is soo cute! Masha allah I love the outfit! However, I wouldn't advise anyone to do this on a regular occasion. You'll turn heads girls, but you won't be getting the stares you may have been hoping for ;)

I think I'm in love....

.. WITH THESE PHOTOS!!! OMG how amazing are they?!!!

The very first one isn't that hijabi friendly in the sense that it shows the neck, but you could wear a light turtle neck with it! Orr if you don't agree, just take note that you should wear bright colors this season.

RUFFLES! I love the ruffles on the last photo. Just GENIUS! GEEENIIUUS!

Picture Perfect!

I think this is a great picture! I'm not sure who took it, or where they got it from -- but I got it from facebook :P . It shows such a contrast between the two girls. Now i'm not one to judge, and since I don't know either girl and what kind of person either one is, I won't. but just from this photo, you can tell what the girl in the hijab values, and what the girl with her chest falling out doesn't....

What not to wear - Hijabi style...

Along with "Holy Designers" I'm starting another section on this stylish blog! "What not to wear - hijabi style" is just as it sounds, it's where I profile a look that some hijabis are trying out.. but aren't working too well in terms of what Allah tells hijabis to wear or just in terms of their physical appearance. In other words, it's the "muslim fashion don'ts".

Let's start with out first "what not to wear - hijabi style" case:You probably guessed it from this photo. TIGHT JEANS!! Definite no-no. The prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said that wearing tight jeans is like wearing nothing at all. He (PBUH) also said that a woman who wears tight fitting clothing and shows her body will not be 500 years close to the SMELL of heaven!! I'm not sure if that is a strong hadith or not, (if you knew please comment) but what a horrible fate, and only by wearing tight fitting clothing! Stay away from those tight jeans!

Modest Daytime Dresses

Today I found a website called boston proper while I was browsing for some daytime dresses to feature in this blog today, most of their products are not modest at all but I still able to pick something which I think will be appropriate to wear by fashionable muslimas out there :) These are good for spring and n summer days, perfect to be worn anytime of the day esp. at the parks and seasides:

Vintage kaftan dress

Color-brushed strapless dress

Smocked border-print dress

All of the above dresses should be worn with matching jacket to cover the shoulder and sleeve of course. The jacket below is one of my picks to wear with these dresses. I knew there are lots of jackets that will be more prettier than this but I'm quite lazy this morning to search for more, lol :D

Embellished denim jacket

Lastly, the most important thing, don't forget to wear the matching HIJAB to complete these set!
