Pink is always cute- and it's not only for the little girls, you too can wear it, but pairing it with chic sunglasses or trousers.

Blue, blue, gorrrgeous blue. One color head to toe CAN be cute-- just not too often

Queen of Green!

I'M IN LOVE with this outfit I made! I almost can't believe I put it together! ahaha just kidding. Anyway, I usually create my outfits with a persona in mind, even though I don't usually mention it. Anyway, this was for the earthy hijabi who never ceases to look so chic! Ankle boots are sooo hot this season, and so is the leather, lord of the rings kind of leather colored material. Then I saw this gorgeous turkish hijab and almost died so I mean, for that sort of reaction - you'd think I'd include it into the outfit!

For this outfit, I would really want to show off the boots, but unless you wear skinnies, that's almost impossible. But not impossible enough to stump the hijabifashionista! Yeah, that's right! I could just cuff them, or wear 3/4 wide leg capris (ohh they are soo cute) so they would show off the boots, because they are soo glam!

seriously, just LOOK at that bag! I'm in looove with it!

Hope you like this one as much as I do!

FOUND IT!! FOUND IT!! FOUND IT!!

We can take some tips from this one - see how she uses the one color in her hijab to determine what color shirt she wears? It's sooo spring. Then she adds a long necklace to make the whole outfit floooowww.

this one right above is "29.01!" Sorry, but the exclamation points are NOT going to make me excited about a sale! THAT"S NOT A SALE PRICE! Oh well.., what can you do?

OKOKOK! I'm suuuper excited right now. If you're a regular visitor (which I hope you are, and if not - you should start) then you'll remember waaaay back into one of my earlier posts where I talk about these turkish hijab models and the hijabs they're wearing and WHERE IN THE WORLD they are being sold?! I got one reply- facebook, LOL! But I was looking for the designer or website at least!
GUESS WHAT? I was doing my usual hijab fashion research and I was looking for more sites to find my hijabs from other than thehijabshop.com and so I started typing in random URLs looking for them.. I tried hijabworld.com and hijabcity.com and then WWW.HIJABPLANET.COM!!

At hijabplanet.com you can find these hijabs but HOLLLYY MOLLYY! THEY ARE EXPEEENNNSIIVE for hijabs! like $35?! I wouldn't spend that much on a hijab unless it was for a certain occasion. Anyway, if you do spend that much, or have an occasion, check out the site, the hijabs are AMMMAAZING! .. but then again, so are their models - but the hijabs are so great they would glam up any outfit - and any person!

Clean, punk hijabis!

I'm not a fan of the "punk" fashion- those ugggly chunky heels and totally overdone, clashing patterns. However, I AM a fan of dressing differently, really asserting your individuality.
We've all got that punk hijabi inside of us, let her show, but don't overdue it! You're already asserting your individuality by wearing your hijab, so just add a little punk pattern as a headband peaking out of your hijab, using a punk color combination (red, black, white). A nice ankle boot and structured jacket bring punk right up there with chic!

Hope you love it!

Hijabi On the Move

We all travel- or atleast would love to. So for that next trip (imaginary or not) make sure you are COMFORTABLE! You could always go with the sweats look that i featured a few posts earlier, but you want to walk out of the plane looking even better than that. Using the outfit above as a guide ,you're sure to make a fabulous landing!

- COMFORTABE SHOES- please don't wear heels! Wear comfortable shoes, a nice pair of sneakers, or super cute flats!

Orange is the new black!

April showers bring may flowers! .. And before we can get right into wearing florals, bright colors matched with nuetrals are so great and this trenchcoat and umbrella are great for the rainy april days!

Bangles Galore!

Season's MUST HAVE? Bangles, bangles, bangles galore! Make 'em chic with an amazing outfit like the one I created above!
Enjoy!

gray suit -- hijabified!

We all have those formal, conservative events. Why drive over to buy the new grey or black suit, when you can follow this outfit I created and be a trendsetter AND fit in with all the other outfits walking around the building?

Instead of those dress pants, wear a long gorgeous skirt. Pair it with a blouse, and modern it up with a vest- which are a major MUST HAVE this season! THEN accesorize with bags, shoes, jewlery.. and all the rest!

Vintage Hijabi!

Anyone can pull off that "vintage" look. All you need is your mom or grandmother's jewlery, and maybe a trip to a thrift store or flea market for those one of a kind items! It's not gross (haha i'm not asking you to buy old meds or anything) It's chic. tres, tres chic!

Indian Inspired!

I love this look I created! Deep purples, grays, and gorgeous jewlery and accessories! This look is suuper easy to pull off!
For this look:
- flats decorated with jewels
- indian bangles which you'll find in ANY city.. look at your local "halal" store, they always have 'em!
- gorgeous fabrics!

The Comfortable Hijabi

I created this outfit for the hijabi that dresses for COMFORT. Some hijabis dress in sweates EVERYDAY! .. and that's great - as long as they own more than one pair. The hijabis that dress for comfort usually do this well, but for the hijabis that are having their "blah, I just woke up, I know I look terrible, leave me alone." kind of days, they try to pull off the sweats look and not only do they look terrible, but they feel terrible as well! So girls, invest in some different sweats - colored ones, or baggy yoga pants. Not only will you be comfortable because well, they are, and they are definatly NOT form-fitting, you'll look great, and what's more, it's effortless!

Keep that v-neck open!

Wear a deep v-neck and put your hijab in to fill in the gap. It looks really sophisticated. Or wear a button up top and only button it up 60% of the way up. Leave the rest open and fill in all that room with your hijab! I love it!

Gorgeous orange

Spring color: ORANGE

I was debating what color I should use for the long sleeve top underneath the gorgeous orange top I chose. First I thought brown, but when putting together an outfit in spring, stay away from orange and brown unless you're going for a bohemian look, because it's kind of fall. Then I thought maybe black, but I decided that was too halloween looking - especially with this pumpkin orange. White it was. And yes, I do think this much when putting together an outfit hehe.
NoTE: You can really dress-down a top by using accessories. As you can see, I used a super casual tote with this dressy top and it really makes the outfit casual. Imagine how dressy this same outfit can be if I used a pretty orange clutch or bag! Hijabi's are really fortunate in this way because the same goes for a hijab! You can totally dress up a basic long sleeve alone with a fancy hijab!

27 Dresses >>> #11

A vision in white.

Simple.
Dress Awareness Rule:
If you can't buy a full skirt AND a long dress- just buy a long dress. This way, you can wear a matching top over the dress, and it will look like you're wearing a skirt. In the outfit above, you can wear a black longsleeve under this white maxi dress from victoria secret Or you can wear the longsleeve and the dress AND the white top over it.
HijabiFashionista Tip # whoknowswhatnumber:
If the top you're wearing's focus is on the top, you don't want your hijab to cover it. Tuck you hijab in the top. It really looks great!
***if you're looking for long dresses, try mangoshop.com or SURPRISINGLY; www.victoriasecret.com

Aritizara! I found some great dresses here! THey have a great selection at aritizara.com, but these are the best ones - really they are. I'm not going to pretend like I love everything on the site, in fact there's a lot of it I wouldn't wear, but there are some chic items - like the ones above! Enjoy!

27 Dresses >>> #9

Soft Surroundings has very few dresses - but it seems like they had hijabis in mind when they created them! They're long, and have sleeves! They are 3/4 sleeves, but you can wear sleeves under them. If you want you can wear a whole long sleeve top under it, but that may get a little hot seeing as the weather is beautiful and warm now alhamdulilah. So just wear the separate sleeves. You can find them on ebay for really cheap. you just slip them on and you're good to go. I paired the dresses above with hijabs from thehijabshop.com

Skirts Gallore!

I really want you to wear full skirts! They're soo great, and I really encourage every hijabi to wear them. They're comfortable, and hijabi-safe.
Mango is an amazing affordable designer brand that I use a lot in my posts.. and how great was it when I posted all of their full skirts? WELLL NOW I FOUND MORE SKIRTS ON ANOTHER SITE! I honestly love this site; softsurroundings.com I got the link from welovehijab.com. Soft Surroundings has 16 full skirts and posted only a few short of sixteen.

THe black one in the third row comes in many colors - all neutrals. With neutrals, you can wear any top! I woudn't go for a boho look with this.

All these skirts are soo great! FOr the boho look, wear lots of pattern and a lot of accessories. With these skirts, You pretty much have the pattern covered, so wear a solid top in the color of one of the colors in the skirt, and pair this with layered hijabs, like the following;

Mecca Stars

I love this picture!So glamorous!

hehe they're wearing chanel!

I saw a woman eating at a restaurant under her niqaab in Oman. It made me laugh at the idea then, but she was really graceful while doing it - not like you'd imagine, one hand lifting, the other hand putting food in her face before the niqaab falls back down and gets all dirty-- nope, not like that at all. Masha allah. Except mcdonalds.. yuuck

These abayas are form fitting, but I still like them. I'm not telling you to wear form fitting abayas though, these pictures are just ideas of what's out there, you take what you want from them. As I said before, dark shades and hijab are immidiate glam-ups.

Ohoh, who were the designers for this cage thing? I dunno, but I really like it. Do you think, though, that this "caged look" covering this muslim woman's face symbolises something? I dunno, maybe it's just me?

Look at that POP of COLOR in her outfit! Gorgeous!

I don't know about you, but I really like this issue of marie claire- and this particular photo shoot. It's in one of the earlier december issues - I can't remember which year exactly but I'm guessing like 2005/6 or something. Many people would agree with me that this isn't quite appropriate for everyday wear, but these abayas could be used for special occasions. I really like how they're dressing up the hijab for the shoot-- as in the ideas are nice and not ones you'd see everyday. The fact that they're showing non muslim women reading the magazine that we're fashionable on the other side of the globe as well, and that we women are liberated and dress the way we like to, really makes me appreciate the magazine that much more.

Tell me what you think! There are so many debates on the net about this issue - I want to hear your opinions right here on this blog. Just click comment! :D

vests!

This blog is to serve the purpose of giving you fashionable hijabis ideas in sporting the latest trends - hijabi style! I want to help you eliminate that depressing, "what to wear?" factor most of us have in our mornings! ALL of us have them.. even if we look great everyday, we're still going to have those days where we wake up and really not feel like wearing that outfit we set out for ourselves the night before. What do we do then? Our bus is leaving in 10 minutes and we can' t figure out what to wear. Leaving the house looking bad? NOT an option. Vests are the amazing cure. I have two - one black and one beige. They are both completly different styles but can each be worn like, a trillion ways! I think everyone should have ATLEAST one if not more!

The easiest thing to wear underneath is solid long sleeve top. One in black or one in white. If you are wearing a vest open, wear a printed top underneath.

If you don't like the fact that they're supposed to be worn a little tight, buy one with an adjuster in the back of it, which will help make it looser - if not that, just buy it a size larger. Fashion is all about dressing the way YOU like it. If you like it loose (which most of us do) then wear it loose. If you would prefer not wearing it loosely, wear it open. The long sleeve you'll have underneath will always look great. If your vest is open, wear a printed top - and if it's a solid, put on a necklace.

Pink and Brown make the world go round!

Remember not to use colors that clash! Pink and brown are great together. Look at all my other outfits to see other colors that mesh well together - purple and yellow, blue and yellow, red and black, beige and red.. THERE ARE SOO MANY COLOR COMBINATIONS! This season, make sure you add that punch of color to every outfit you wear - whether it's just in a necklace, or throughout your whole outfit.!

Sequin and Beaded Shaylas are huge this season! Forget what you knew about the traditional shayla. There are so many ways to wrap this scarf that you'll never get bored! Try layering two shaylas on top of one another, or "crown" wrapping for an elegant, yet modest look. These are great for evening events and weddings. Light and breathable, just in time for warmer weather! Get this look at www.almuhajabaelaniqa.com !

My Latest Finds: Ponchos from Spiegel

Modesty, Comfort, Elegance, Style? What else are you looking for? I think all these ponchos above will give all the things I looked for this season. That’s why I chose to post it here in my blog to share it to you dear readers. However, to comply completely with our dress code we cannot wear that alone for our tops since the sleeve is a little bit shorter so we need something to cover our full sleeve.

In this case I think it should be worn over a long sleeve t-shirt to completely cover what needed to be covered. A matching loose pants and plain hijab will complete these outfit.

27 Dresses >>> #8

What about those tube dresses you like so much, but would NEVER wear? Well, why not? Because you don't like all of the long sleeve top showing? You're not used to something without straps? Don't worry about either of those things! They're... curable.

If you don't like the huge gap between the dress and your hijab, wear a large hijab - where the bottom hangs over that gap. See? Cured.

Perhaps you still don't like that gap, and don't feel comfortable with all that fabric there.. Wear a necklace that pops! Like the one above. It will take the attention away from that gap, and instead you'll look in the mirror and say, "hey! I love this necklace!"

see? cured.

Dress awareness tip here?

WEAR a necklace that pops!

WARNING: tube dresses do not compliment "big -chested" women... i thought you might have liked to know.

Looking for a dress for the sporty hijabi? Orrr for the hijabi that feels like looking sporty? No need. I put one together ;)
I'm starting to use Target as one of my sources for clothing. I'm REALLY starting to like it!
Here, I started with the dress. I decided to put my art classes in action here and used complimentary colors - which really... compliment eachother! hehe (now it all makes sense.. if only i remembered that on the test... I'm kidding!)

Remember, you don't need to be athletic to dress athletic. It's as simple as that! Like I said before, the clothes you wear one day, doesn't determine the kind of person you are - rather the kind of persona you feel that DAY. Sometimes I'm in all florals, other days I'm wearing a leather jacket. I'm not necessarily sweet and innocent, neither am I a "biker chick". The fact that I put both of those outfits together just shows that my fashion has no limitiations and that I'm creative. So, next time you want to dress like something people aren't used to seeing you in, do it. You'll be surprised at how great you'll feel and the compliments you'll get, are just a bonus.

Mango Skirts

LADDDIEEES! I keep talking about Mango, and I feature their clothing in a lot of my posts. Now, I want to introduce another style to you!

There are a lot of hot looks this season - safari, bohemian.. and others.. but right now, the others are irrelevant. the Boho look is one that hijabis can pull off with the slightest of ease. Breezy fabrics, blues, browns, turqouises too! Long beaded neckaces, bangles and you're out the door looking mighty fashionable!

Sooo I searched up all the long skirts mango had. It looks as if they had hijabis in mind.

These are a bit pricy (the prices are above each skirt), but they are really just an idea for all you hijabis out there. However, people usually spend this much on a formal outfit, so why not invest in one formal skirt, and buy cheaper ones for everday? Also, I wouldn't go for one like the last one -- it's only 79$ for a reason, you know -- it looks like someone threw up a lollipop all over your chic skirt! Now it's all..ugly! haha (had to say it.)

For skirts:

a) go to the mall and check out the stores that sell bathing suits and beach wear (and I mean that specialize in them, not just any store that sells swimsuits). They usually have long skirts because people like to wear them to the beach. You can wear them everyday! And because they're sold for the beach, they'll be super light - - great material for those hot summer dayss! (which i cannot wait for! insha allah!)

b) go to stores where they sell formal clothing. Like stores that sell gowns and dresses. They always have two - piece outfits, a skirt and the top that matches. Just buy the skirt and wear it any which way you want!

c) shop online -- ebay, or any of your favorite stores. Just look under the "skirts" section and skip all the short ones! It's not hard, the long ones are hard to miss.

GO BOHO!

- to complete the look, wear bangles, and loong beaded necklaces. Thick beads work best. But small ones are great too! Especially if you wear more than one necklace. With this look, don't be afraid to layer on the accessories!

Chic, confident, and gooorrrgeous!

I love this outfit.

I'm always looking for unusual buys, whether I'm at the mall, a garage sale or flea market (which are not second hand stores for those of you in the U.K., they're gorgeous crafted items that are sold at particular times of the year). I look for things out of the usual- scarves with multiple colors, rings, necklaces, bags, wallets, change purses.. whatever I find. And when I buy these, I don't think- well, nothing in my closet goes with it and put it back. INSTEAD i say, hey! I've never worn anything like this! and I pick it up! You don't have to look the same everyday, and for heaven's sake, it's fashion! You dress for your mood and you let everything in the world inspire your outfits!

Want me to tell you the truth about this outfit? When I made this, the dress didn't inspire the rest of it-- the hijab did!

Hijabifashionista tip;

When planning an outfit, don't just plan it around the top you're wearing, look for other parts of the outfit and plan around that. You might just want to wear a certain hijab that day with loads of patterns - then use the colors in the hijab to inspire the rest of your outfit. Maybe you have a pure gold necklace with no added colors or charms, wear something chic and sophisticated. In summary, look at ALL the pieces of your wardrobe to plan an outfit, not just the one you regularly use.

27 Dresses >>> #4

I remembered an old jump rope song I used to sing with my friends.. when I jumped rope ;P

"I'm going to my girlfriend's parrrty. What should I wear? Bikini. Skirt. Dress. Nothing. Bikini.Skirt. Dress. Nothing. Biki... "

.. and as most jump rope songs work, you go on and on until you can' t jump anymore (or you trip like I usually did) and see what word you land on! Of course, we all giggled hystarically when one of us would land on any one of them -- I remember I liked to be funny and I stopped jumping purposely on "Nothing" to make everyone laugh super hard. hahhaa good times.

ANYWAYYY I'm not bringing this up for no reason.
I tried to hijabi-fy the song..;

"I'm going to my girlfriend's parrrty. What should I wear? I will never know. Unless I check.. wiith hijabifashionista!"

hahhaha I make myself lauuuugh!

NOW LET'S LOOK AT THE OUTFIT I MADE, particularly for "going to my girlfriend's parrty!"

I love this one! I hope you do too! As you can see, I just used the two colors in the dress for the colors in the outfit.

TIP FOR HANDBAGS:

Clutches are suuuper fashionable nowadays, so GET ONE.. or twoo...

Another bag I could have included in this outfit is a fancy red one. Red bags are everywhere this season! Wear one!

TIP FOR FOOTWEAR:

when in doubt, wear black pumps. They are a must in everyone's wardrobe - hijabi or not.

The Abaya that I'm in Love with!

As I always mentioned in this blog that I'm not an abaya type lady and I only wear this kind of clothes whenever I traveled to K.S.A. or during Ramadan night prayer and Eid holidays. Not that I don't like it but I think I'm not just used to it. I always adore some ladies wearing it esp. when the style is very chic. They look very lovely.

I consumed almost 2 hours this morning to look for kind of abaya on line that match my taste and fortunately I found the one above at www.jelbab.com so I immediately made a collage out of it with the matching accessories. I plan to buy more abayas this time because I only owned few, and whenever I looked at that collage, I can see myself on it because I knew that if I'm going to wear abaya, it should be like that.

27 dresses >>>> #3

It's time for 27 dresses to take a turn for super fancy! AND WE"RE ONLY ON THE THIRD DRESS!! Now you've got a wedding to go to.. maybe prom? I think you can take a few tips from this photo.

Dress Awareness Idea #6:
For prom, or a wedding, or any other occasion, there are alternatives than just taking off your hijab - as many hijabis do. Now, alhamdulilah, there are wedding dresses made for hijabis, such as the ones below;

These are all sooo gorgeous!

For prom, or just a very formal occasion, you don't always want to wear a wedding dress ;) so how about just buying that very chic and fancy gown you saw in the store but thought you could never wear and just hijabi-fy it? The picture above is just something I threw together but the idea rreally is amazing! A friend of mine went to a wedding and wore a plum colored silky gown, similar to the one above (just different haha) with a purple turtle neck underneath it and wore her hijab in an amazing style, such as the one I have above. (Take note that that particular hijab in that color is not one I would use with that dress, I just wanted to show you the style.. use diff colors please!)

For prom, most girls get their hair done, so why not get your hijab done just as extravagently!? On the left of this there are links to other websites I put up for YOUR use. Go to 2hijabs to learn how to wrap your hijab. For this particular tutorial, follow this link;

It looks hard, but practice makes perfect! AND you still have time to practice before prom!

If you live in an arab country, like egypt or any for that matter you'll most likely find a salon that specializes in hijabs. !! Lucky you!

What do you think about hijab and special occasions? Girls taking their hijabs off for prom or their weddings? I would love any comments!

27 Dresses >>>> #2

This picture might get a little confusing, because there are a lot of options. However, this isn't a bad thing. In fact, it's a great one. Allow me to explain. If someone who wasn't a hijabi bought this dress from forever21, then they could just throw it on with some pumps and bag, maybe some accessories at most, then they would have their outfit. As a hijabi however, you're wearing more cloth, so this means more color, and more pieces! This brings me to Dress Awareness Idea #3:
When wearing a dress, know your options.
///
I thought that this outfit I put together was perfect to help me explain this idea!
* As you can see, this dress has a belt which is pretty much the main focus of the dress itself, so you wouldn't want to cover it up with a blazer. So you'd want to pair it with a long sleeve top that compliments the dress. (Dress Awareness Idea - Pair that dress with a long sleeve top!) As you can see, the dress is made up of blue, white, and black. To make the black from the dress POP, wear a black longsleeve under it and a black hijab!. To make the blue in the dress POP, wear a blue longsleeve under it with a blue hijab! It's really THAT easy! And it really looks THAT great!
* This next idea goes for non-hijabis as well.
Pants really CAN make or break an outfit.
For instance, the other day, I went shopping with some friends with a leather jacket and wide legs. Now that I go over the photos, I think the jacket would have looked better with skinny jeans instead - for most of the attention went to the wide legs instead of the jacket which is what I was focusing on :(
Sooo, that's a mistake I'll never make again. And hopefully, if you haven't yet made, you won't either. This is why I added the two pairs of pants at the bottom. The blue skinny jeans really make the outfit more casual whereas the white trousers from mangoshop.com make the outfit more formal. However, if you don't like the white trousers, or don't want it to be that formal, but less casual than the skinny jeans make it, wear the skinny jeans (because they're dark wash) and pair them with some formal accessories.
Hope you learned something with this idea - filled post! I love reading your comments, so comment away!

Beautiful Malay Muslim Wedding Gowns

Images by: Puteri Najwa

Today, I added a new label or category in my blog where I can feature different styles of muslim wedding gowns all over the world, I started it with these very beautiful malay gowns which made me want to be a bride again, lol... but of course still with my hubby as the groom! :D The malay muslims have their own unique style of wedding gowns, inspired by their very colorful traditional dress combined with little touch of modernity, and that made it very unique among others.

I really like all the 3 pictures above, my only comment is, they were little bit tight, so I think if the style would be losen a bit to hide the figure, then it will be a perfect modest wedding gown for every muslima out there.
